Benzophenone 3 is a sunscreen that prevents sunburn and protects skin from the harmful effects of the sun. It is a chemical sunscreen which absorbs ultraviolet (UV) and visible sun light. Limiting exposure to the sun and using sunscreen agents can help prevent early wrinkling and skin cancer. It is only available in combination with other sunscreen agents. Sunscreens absorb, reflect, or scatter radiation in the UV range at wavelengths of 290 to 400 nanometers. UVA radiation is at wavelengths 360-400 nanometers and UVB radiation is at wavelengths 290-320
nanometers. It absorbs UVA and UVB radiations.
